How to find M50

Follow the route from one recognizable star to the next until you reach M50.
M50 is 13° above the horizon toward the Southeast.
Use Orion as the large-scale sky landmark before following the numbered route.

From Sirius, move about 6.7° toward the north-east until you reach field star · mag 6.7.
